Please can anyone briefly explain how to install sky+ and what cable and connectors will i need???
Do you have Sky at the moment ?
I have standard sky digital but bought a sky+ box from ebay without realising that it requires two cables.
OK, what you need to get is either a 4-output or 2-output LNB (The LNB is the receiver bit that fits on the dish arm in the centre of the dish). You can get these quite cheaply on Ebay. You only need 2 outputs, but if you get a 4 output one, you can blank off the unused outputs, and you have outputs for a 2nd box, should you want one in the future. Remove the old LNB, and bolt on the new one.
Then you just need to run a second cable alongside the second one, and you'll also need a couple of "F connectors" and some self-amalgamating tape. The cable should be satellite quality with a separate foil screen. You can get all the bits from Screwfix
Or... if the cable run is quite short and you don't fancy making another hole for a second cable you can try getting hold of some twin sat cable and replace the existing cable altogether. The twin cable is slightly thinner and will fit through an existing 10 mm hole.
Thanks very much guys!
