Question Sky SD Audio downgrade? "Full Mono"

Established Member
Thought something sounded off with the football tonight on my Sky SD subscription albeit with an HD Sky+ box... sure enough my Onkyo avr is reporting "Full mono".

If I switch to the BBC HD channels it's reporting "PLII Movie". If I switch the AVR to the XBox it says Dolby Digital - so I know the AVR's not broken.

Sky+ box is connected to the AVR with optical cable. Optical out is set to Dolby. Have tried toggling it to stereo and back again without any change. AVR is set to use Optical audio for this input. Have tried toggling it to HDMI and back again without any change.

Is this a new way that Sky are helping "encourage" me to upgrade to HD? Or is there something whacky going on locally? Or has it always been like this for SD football and I've only just noticed it...
