Greetings all,
I'm on SKY ADSL BB subscription.
Got my Dark Knight, RT-N66U router.. using the following instructions:
Using Sagem 2504 as modem & Asus RT-N56U as router
The firmware on the Asus has been updated to the latest official firmware.
I've managed to bridge both devices, with the exception of the first step:
1) "Obtain the (Sky) Sagem's external MAC address "
Then to finally insert and apply this MAC address to the Asus WAN settings.
Is there a need to extract the Sky Sagem's MAC address? Just that I've managed to bridge both devices and have access to the Internet.. but in doing this, does it improve performance?
Secondly, is it worth updating the Asus firmware to Merlin firmware?
To sum up, my Macbook pro has 300Mbps when using the 5Ghz wifi channel, and 144 Mbps when 2.5Ghz.
D/w speeds are no better with the Sky Sagem (7Mbps)...
Would really appreciate it if someone can share their settings and how to improve performance.
Thanks
