Sky routers THEIRS ONLY.

I was told by sky I had to use THEIR router when THEIR old one broke down on me. I ordered it last week (£35) was told it would be here by today - they failed. Do I have to use THEIRS? I just want to nip out to pc wold and buy one. Not happy.

As I understand it, you don't need to use their router but, if you have a problem whilst using another type, their support won't help.

Someone else may offer you more/better information than above.

You definitely can use other routers becasue I am. I'm not sure if the Sky T&Cs actually make any reference to using only their hardware. Certainly they can't/won't help with issues with any other hardware. They won't even tell you the info you need in order to set-up any router other than their own supplied unit which comes preset, but with a quick google you can find out how to extract the necessary info from the Sky supplied router to enter into your own.
