    Hi Guys,

Currently, I have an external aerial connected to the 'Input' of a generic 6 way amplifier which feeds the signal to four rooms. As I have no need for Freeview in the living room where the sky box is I thought I could connect the coax to the RF2 and then connect the other end to the second 'Input' on the amplifier.

Will this allow me to have Freview and Sky in each room and will it enable me to use a magic eye in the bedroom? I did do I search which led me to this setup but my main concern was any issues regarding the RF2 power and the amplifier.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi. That will get the channel one way and may get remote control back the other.

If an amplifier has 2 inputs they won't both be for UHF. The second input is probably for VHF, so no it won't work.

Logiciel - thanks for the input. Is there any way I can ensure the remote signal is sent back to the Sky box?

You are correct! Can I use a combiner at the UHF input to allow both the Sky and aeriel signal to be fed to the other rooms?

Yes, just join them with a standard Y-combiner and make the output from that the input to the distributor.
Whether the remote gets back the other way depends on several factors and you'd only find out when you try it.

    Thanks for the response.

One more question - I already have a magic eye connected to the RF2 as the Sky box is hidden in an AV unit. Can I run the coax cable from the magic eye unit or should I use a Y- combiner for this too?

You cannot use Eyes in series, you will need a splitter.

That's not quite clear but the reply is probaby no. A wireless IR extender would be a more reliable method.

    Thanks for all the replies.

I will try and get the picture working before worrying about the additional magic eye for upstairs. I'll report back once done although more likely it will be for more advice
