I've had Sky+ for abot 3 weeks now. I've had some problems on the recording front.

About 1/3 of my attempts have failed. These have been on sky channels and terrestrial channels. Any idea what could be the problem? Sky+ planner just says recording failed when I attempt to view a program.

I assume you have called SKY and been led through the reboot/reset procedures?

Repeated failures of recorded programs would point to a hardware issue on the second tuner, either the tuner itself or the feed it is receiving. It's possible there is an intermittent fault on the LNB or the cable or perhaps those programs that failure have something in common like the polarity.
You could swap the LNB feeds over and see if you get any problems with live viewing.
