Sky + recording fault

    Anyone had a "system fault" message appear on screen when using the recording feature ?

    Phoned Sky about the problem and reset the Sky + box, but still the same fault. Engineer visiting Saturday hopefully to rectify the problem !

    Bloody box is only 2 months old !! Purchased from Comet.
    The cooling fan on the hard drive has been noisy the last few days or is that just me imagining it !

    Any feedback would be appreciated:smashin:

    As I understand it the "system fault" message is pretty terminal, odds are that they will do a straight box swap perhaps with a reconditioned unit so beware.

    I should be aware rather than beware. A working reconned unit must be better than a broken new one! It should be as good as new though, & is worth examining / testing whilst the engineers present in case of problems. (If there are you'd have grounds to demand a brand new replacement I would say)

    Actually my first choice would be replacement with a brand new unit and secondly my unit being repaired. Replacing a broken SKY+ which is within warranty with a recon that could be over two years old is totally unacceptable.
    So yes be aware of the procedure but beware that they don't steal your hardware and replace it with old kit.
