I recently had Sky + installed and the existing box moved into a different room, the reception on sky + is perfect, however, the old sky box is awful and seems worse on some channels than others, for things like Sky Sports its unwatchable, it seems to allow a frame a second, it can't be the dish as Sky + works perfectly. Is there anything I can do on the box that may help?

Have you checked the signal strength and quality - it might be that the cable isn't connected to the LNB correctly as it's a different cable to that going to the Sky+ box.

The two STB's are being fed two seperate (3 if you count two tuners in SKY+) feeds from the Quad LNB down their own seperate cables. It is quite possible for one feed to be perfect while the next one is not, the quad LNB being four seperate units in one case.

Connect the standard digibox to one of the LNB cables that feeds the SKY+, if the reception is good then you have a problem with the LNB or cable. If the picture is no better then the digibox tuner could be on the way out.
