    hi guys,
if you have standard sky £15 per month and want to update to sky+ do you simply have to pay for the sky+ at box £99
or do you have to upgrade your subscription to more per month?
    cheers.

If you want to use the SKY+ DVR functions then you have to pay the £10 a month or upgrade the subscription to a package which includes the SKY+ service (two premium channels).
The SKY+ HD subscription (£10) does include the SKY+ part so a slightly higher initial purchase may work out better in the long term especially if you have a HD display right now.

    thanks.
    its actually for my parents.
they cant get a signal in there area from a normal ariel and so MUST have sky ( no telewest cables are laid on there new build either)
so, at the mo they have normal sky but cant watch ANY OTHER CHANNEL if recording, even the standard 1-5 channels.
so its either a sky+ box or multiroom.
they want it as cheap as possible and are not interested in movier channels, sports channels etc.
whats the cheapest way to sort this

    thanks.

The cheapest way could be if they 'Introduce a friend'. They'll get a free Sky+ box, but have to pay £60 for the installation plus a tenner a month to use the Sky+ functions (if they stay on the £15 package).

They could also threaten to cancel completely and see what Sky will offer them to stay.
