Well, An engineer replaced my Pace v2 Sky+ box on Saturday due to regular failed recordings and signal drop outs.

    This is what happened....

I explained to the engineer that the problem was intermittant and he immediately said that he would swap the box as someone had checked the cabling 2 weeks before.

The engineer came back from his van with a Amstrad SKY+ STB which was in a sealed box with a printed labelwith my surname on it.

Plugged in Amstrad Box and a high pitched whine started straight away, You could actually hear the disk spinning up!!!!!! I said that this wouldn't do so he goes back to van and brings out a Pace Box instead.

Now this would have been obvious if the box had had been tested before being sent out, so is there any quality control at all on these, it sort or explains the failure rate if not.
