Just a quick question and probably a straight forward answer for someone in the know
Had sky q fitted with a hybrid lnb. In room 1 sky q fitted. In room 2 kept the leads with sky hd (unused as just plugged in a mini box to the tv). After getting a new tv I switched the sky q box to room 2 using the leads formerly used with sky hd. I didnt touch anything on the lnb.
The sky q box works correctly, however, would there be any impact on Uhd? If not then why would a hybrid lnb be needed?
Really interested in knowing how this functions if anyone can explain. Thanks

It’s some kind of magic. I haven’t seen it explained on here, but the Sky Q box makes itself known to the LNB.

Thanks for the reply. So it doesn't matter which output the sky q box is connected to it will act the same as any other whilst it's connected? Cheers again.

Try recording two programmes on different channels while watching a third one.

Sky q has 12 tuners so what would that do?

Possibly not work (?) due to the OP having his Q box connected to a standard feed from the LNB rather than the wideband feed.

The hybrid LNB has six outputs that work in three pairs. They can all run either universal (high/lo H/V etc) mode or full band mode for Q (one H one V) with the Q box using a control signal/voltage to toggle the mode.

If that wasn't the case, then OP's shift around would have ended in failure initially.
