Sky Protect Warranty Scam - Warning

Novice Member
Just a warning if you have Sky Protect coverage...

Received a phone call yesterday from a very polite and well spoken chap claiming to be from Sky Protect and offering a reduced premium on my policy. He new my address, some personal details and the last 4 digits of my debit card. He also quoted what I was currently paying by Direct Debit and the date of the month it was paid.

He then went on to say I should cancel the DD and pay by Debit Card, requesting the full card number and security information. At this point I became suspicious and hung up.

I then phoned Sky Protect who confirmed it is a scam and that they had been contacted by hundreds of customers.

The call at first seemed plausible and some people may fall for it. BEWARE... it is a scam.

I would be extremely worried if a cold caller knew my personal details, particularly my debit card!

Have you reported this to your card company, to cover yourself in case there is an unauthorised withdrawal?
