Have done a quick search for this but could not see an answer - apologies if I missed one:

I use my laptop on the train every day, mostly for work but also watch quite a few films. It would be great if I could watch some of the shows I have recorded on Sky+. Is there anyway of getting a Sky+ programme fed in to the laptop so I can record it using the laptops DVD recorder?
If there is a lead will I need additional software?

Does the laptop have a built in TV card? If it does you could connect it to the RF out on the Sky+ box, play the program on the Sky box and record it on the PC. If not you could get an external TV card and us that.

The easiest way is to use a DVD recorder that can record RGB + digital sound, & writes a compatible format DVD for the laptop (ie probably not DVD-RAM). I gave up on recording direct.
