I would just like to know if anyone else is having problems with Sky+ like me.

I had it installed last November and am now on my 3rd box. This one works for about 4 minutes before locking up and I have to unplug it and try again but every 4 minutes or so, it locks up again.

I now have virtually no Digital TV at all, and have had to revert to sticking an old tv ariel on top of my TV.

    Any opinions?:(

I bought my SKY+ from Currys back in September and apart from one month when I had numerous failed recordings it has been very good.
Haven't had a failed recording or needed to reset the box for a couple of months now.

Get in touch with SKY and tell them to take it back and refund your money, three boxes on and you are still having problems is disgraceful or just real bad luck.

Drewnet, just to echo Starburst's comments:

I got my Sky+ box in mid December. I have had no problems with it whatsoever; no noisy harddrive, no failed recordings, no lockups, nothing. Its just been plugged in, switched on and left to work. I have been thoroughly delighted with it.

    Get yours replaced again!

    tk212,

I thought 80 Gig was the max size DIY upgrade for Sky+ as when it powers up it takes to long to check the drive and initiate it:confused:

    Taz,

Theres one certain model of 120Gig by Maxtor that will slot in no problem whatsoever. Theres another thread i started about the possibility of upgrade, and some people put links in there, which is what i followed, one to a forum thread which is very interesting...

Ive now installed my 120Gig and it is filling up nicely

    Very happy indeed

    Hi again Taz,

Wasnt at home before, so didnt post the model number..

    Its a Maxtor 120Gb 4G120J6 5400rpm.

Slots in fine, has the usual problems with the numerical space indicator:rolleyes: but seems to be OK so far :)

Well after two weeks of hounding Sky, I finally received a 4th new box on saturday and so far so good.

At last I can start to record stuff and fill up the box without having to worry that it might be taken away again.

I don`t think I`ll be messing with the hard drive as I,m just glad to have it working. :)
