sky + problem

chaps hi,
i recordrd wwe raw last week the special 4 hours! but my recording stopped at 183 minutes! fluke i thought but then i tried to record horse of the year show last night for the missus, and guess what 183 minutes as well any one else had this problem?? also sometimes when i try to rewind live tv the symbol appears but freezes and i have to press bakkup to return to tele any one have any idea on how to rectify this problem

ok, in regards to stopping at 183, easy thing to check first, how much space on your hard drive do you actually have? its possible you only had 183 mins left, then if you deleted that and recorded horse of the year, you will still only have 183..

if this isnt the case and you had plenty of space left (ie 20% or more)then i would suggest contacting Sky to ask them....did it give a reason why it stopped there? usually it will say it clashed, or signal error, or unknown error etc.......

btw, what 4 hour Raw special? The Homecoming or No Mercy? those were the two longest ones i've seen on in the last couple weeks, Homecoming was 200 mins on my machine and the No Mercy on box office was 183 minutes.....so neither was 4 hours, The Homecoming was closest but still only 3hrs 20 mins and i think that was only cuz my Sky box decided to add an extra 5 or 10 minutes before and after the recording to make sure it got it all....

as for rewind live TV, check your Sky+ Settings, make sure no one has changed the setting for it, i have mine on for 30 mins, so i can go back as far as 30 mins in a program (this is providing you dont switch channel or bring up the EPG or whatever, soon as you do that you lose whats been temporarily written to the hard drive)

i've still got that on my Sky+, assuming it lets me record it to DVD-R im happy to send it to you if you want? PM your address and i'll post it off....dont worry about the cost, they only a couple quid the discs.....it was quite good fun the homecoming...heh
