    Punctuation, it's a wonderful thing:)

So the same remote will control the digibox via a TVlink device connected to RF2 but will not control the same digibox via it's front IR sensor?

    Not really:(

My first thought would be that the IR sensor in the digibox has failed.
The remote is obviously ok otherwise it couldn't control the digibox via the TVlink, at least that sounds reasonable although I wonder if the TVlink sensor is more sensitive and is picking up a weak signal that the main IR sensor is missing.
Always worth replacing the batteries in a remote just on the off chance.

Have you turned on the power to the second RF outlet? I had a similar problem with it allowing me change channels but I could not turn off the box. Go into Services and then into Sky set up (I think its option 4) then just enter 01 which gets you into command mode.... then you will see the RF Outlets option and make sure the power supply is set to ON for the second one. See if that works!
