Sky Plus Housekeeping

    I have been noticing on Sky plus the percentage of hard drive that i have left is slowly diminishing, for example i have 3 items currently saved on disk 2 films of 2 hours and tv show of 1 hour so in total thats 5 hours yet it shows i only have 50% free space. Surely its 20 hours worth of space on the drive so 5 used should leave 75%.

    I've heard people mention the term housekeeping, is this something to do with reclaiming lost drive space?

    Any ideas / help would be appreciated.

    services 4-0-1 select

    this brings up the installers menu

    you can do a full system reset (housekeeping) this will wipe the HDD. Alternatively you can run the planner rebuild which will restore lost space without deleting recordings.

    What am i doing wrong? as soon as i hit services (the services screen comes up) then the 4 it goes to add channels i never get to the 0 1 part.

    Help

    press services button on the remote

    press the number 4 on your remote

    press the number 0 on your remote

    press the number 1 on your remote

    press select on your remote

    Hey Bobbles

    I class myself a reasonably intelligent guy but that just doesn't work unless i'm doing something so stupid.

    I hit services followed by 401 all that happens is the services screen appears pressing 4 causes system set up to appear the 0 does nothing and 1 is pointless.
    Ive tried pressing them quickly and then slowly nothing works.

    I assume you have to have the remote pointing to the box for this to work?

    Ah that old chessnut (hence my question about protection plans). I've gone through this process several times and no joy - they're coming round tomorrow to replace the box.

    Incidentally, the operator was quite interested about it all and said it was a issue being investigated. I've previously had perfectly good recordings come up as failed, and also had problems moving between screens in the Recordings menu.
