How many movies are being broadcast in 5.1 as i do not seem to be finding them.

I have a technics receiver that confirms that the signal is coming through the optical cable as digital however not as 5.1.

On Infomation seen on SKY banner for some movies, I see DS ( I presume Dolby Surround)
Others show DD ( I presume Dolby Digital)

However my processor when playing DVDs in 5.1 through optical cable lights up to show all five speakers and sub are receiving seperate signals.

Though Sky it is only showing front and sub as having seperate signals.

Have you got DD output turned on in the sky+ setup menu?

Yes Digutal outpit selected on SKY + box and the AV receiver confirms it is receiving a digital signal.

Where on SKY information can I check that a broadcast should be in 5.1?

As said i seem to get both front speakers signal & also the Subs but not the surrounds.

Only some movies on Sky Movies 1, 2 & 3 are broadcast in surround.
Blood Work which is on at 2000 on Sky Movies 1 is in surround - you can tell this by the DD in the right hand corner of the banner when you press i.

Have you checked to see if any sound is coming from the rear?
It might be that you amp just isn't detecting the signal properly and giving a false indication via the 5.1 lights.
