Hey Sky have a new system out all of their own consists of...

    Plasma tv 42'' 852x480 1000:1 contrast fanless
    2 componet,2scart u-xga fanless

300w home cinema amp and dvd

    3 yr warranty (worth £550)

    and £200 cashback on sky+

    All for 3,750

The only thing is who makes it and is it any good.
I doubt we'll see it in a shop as its on skybuy.

    Hello kurt

As you say for many it looks a great deal - otherwise Sky wouldn't bother with filling up lots of expensive magazine pages with the adverts.

The specifications of any plasma only tell half the story - the proof is in the viewing as they say. Looking at the specs of the SKY Home Entertainment system I'd say you were not looking at getting the best picture quality currently available; in fact the plasma spec looks pretty out of date.

Remember this 'system' will have been put together by a bean counter - they will have had a target 'price' and then went out to find a manufacturer who will re badge kit that works within that price.

No matter how big a bargain it seems £3,750.00 is a lot of cash to lay out with no idea how it 'looks' or 'sounds'.

    Best regards

    Joe

PS I think you can get an ideal of how it sounds by looking at the image of the 'Centre Channel' loudspeaker - remember that's probably the most important speaker in your 5:1 system; and the one shown in the SKY mag doesn't look too mighty to me! especially stuck at the back of the AV Rack firing sound at your ankles!!!

Basically, it is a distinct possibility they are flogging off a load of out of date old tat, for the same money you could get something to be proud of.
