    Hi,
First post here, this forum is massive! Seems a friendly enough place too.
Right, just had Sky + installed and I've noticed that the picture quality isn't as good as with the built in freeview. I've got a Samsung 40" LCD and when I flick between the Sky signal and the freeview there is a definate improvement in the freeview picture. Is this what other people find or can the signal be tweaked at all to make it better? It's not just the colours which are better, it seems to be sharper.

    Any advice welcome.

    Thanks Mick.

Did you install it or Sky?

Sky have been known to only connect them via the Aerial lead, is yours using a fully wired scart lead (Does it automatically switch to Sky when you turn the box on?)? If it is connected via a scart, try and use the RGB scart (AV1 on my Samsung LCD) socket on your TV and enable RGB instead of PAL in the Sky menu.

If it isn't connected via Scart, then it really needs to be...

Thanks for that. Sky installed the dish/box and they have used scart lead and set to RGB. Think it might just be me, will get used to it in a day or so.

If you switch between RGB and PAL can you see a difference in quality?

Also check that 'Scart Control' is enabled in the sky+ box's picture setup menu, and whilst you have RGB enabled, check that the scart from the "TV" out on the sky+ box goes to the RGB enabled scart on your tv.
