    Hi,

Just had a Sky+ v1 box installed (through the £99 deal  )

Overall very happy with Sky+. The PQ on my plasma looks a lot better than through standard digibox, however, the feed to my 2nd TV (via Sky Link) has degraded quite substantially.

Before the install of Sky+, the PQ on my TV was superb but now I can clearly see rolling diagonal banding across the screen.

I have checked the RF settings (they are the same as I was using on my standard Digibox), have updated the Sky+ software, and have tried to fine tune my TV picture settings but still have the problem!

Anyone else had a problem like this with Sky+ & Sky links?

    cheers

Have you tried a totally new RF frequency instead of just trying to fine tune the existing one?

There must be differences between the RF modulators used in standard makes/models of digiboxes and SKY+ versions. This might explain the interfernece that has been introduced, of course it may be a faulty modulator but I would certainly look to an outside influence before considering a call out.

I have the original SKY+ and have no problems using the TVlink.
However last year after 4 years of usign a TVlink on channel 68 it suddenly just carried nothing, retuning to another channels solved the problem but to this day I have no idea why this happended.

Do you get the same interference using RF1 as well as RF2?
Do you run the SKY+ RF output through any boosters or distribution units and can you connect the SKY+ to a a telly on a short lead and see if the shorter cable eliminates the interference.

Mine did exactly the same thing when I upgraded to a V1 Sky+ last week.

    I have the RF2 split and feeding 2 tv's.

I moved the RF frequency from 57 to 47, then back to 57 - and also made sure the cable connections into the splitter were snug and it then worked a treat.

Check your co-ax cable to the other TV is'nt running too close to a power cord, extension cable or something - electricity can cause that sort of 'rolling banding' interference.
