Hi, I've read that Sky will be using PAL progressive scan, will the SKY+ box be compatible? If not can it be modified by sticking something in the user port? I realise that the TV must be progessive scan as I plan to get a Panasonic Plasma TV in the near future.

Sky have not managed to broadcast Sky News in widescreen yet.I don't actually know what you mean by "Sky will be using PAL progressive scan..";progressive scan is not a broadcast standard,it is a display standard, unless i am much mistaken.End users, like you and i decide on how we view the programme.

Progressive scan would indeed require new user hardware just as it does for DVD material playback. The source material on DVD is no different it's the DVD player hardware and the Display hardware that allow progressive scan to be implemeted.
