I already have Sky+ but our box keeps losing all our programmes, particularly after a power cut. It is out of warranty and I have been thinking of buying a new box off the Internet. What I'd like advice on is whether a) anyone else has bought new other than from Sky, if so, where from and b) is it easy to replace a box, register, etc. Any help would be much appreciated.

ShortNick - you can buy a Sky+ box from anywhere that will sell you one! Don't think you'd have much luck with the high street stores though. They are available from various sources on the net if you look.

Try www.skytvrepairs.com or www.simplystore.co.uk Sure there are others too.

Once you have your new box, it's a straight swap, no problem. You will need to phone Sky to authorise your viewing card with your new box but again, this is easy. Should take no more than 20 minutes all in!
