Has anyone experienced problems with the SKY+ box getting hot? Last night, for the first time in 2 years my box seemed to be very hot and a fan seemed to kick in for about 5 mins. Is this usual??

I had the same problem with mine. I resolved it by ensuring that there was a decent space between the top of the sky+ box and the surrounding area. Basically is sits on its own on a shelf without anything on top of it.

aye, it should be treated like a cross between amp and computer, plenty of space needed to keep it cool.....altho if its getting extremely hot then its quite possible its on its way out, its having to work a lot harder to do the job so will eventually give up.......hopefully not for your sake tho..lol
