Sky + outside the UK

I currently live in the north of Spain and have had a sky digibox hooked up for a couple of years now.
Howeever, I wouldn't mind going the Sky+ route.
Therefore, would it be possible to buy a Sky+ digibox, install a double LNB and stick my existing card in the box?

Would this work??

No, because the Sky+ box must be set up in the UK first.

Part of the matching of the Sky+ box to the card is for the Sky+ box to call home and you can not do that from Spain.

A friend of mine took his card back to the UK and got his Sky+ box authorised and then took it out of the country working.

Also you will need a Sky+ box that is not subject to Sky's limitation of having it connected to the telephone for a year.
