trying to link my sky+ amstrad through the denon 500, it was suggested using optical out, whats that
Just connect the optical out from the Sky box to the optical in on your Denon, check the manuals. It's a cable available from JL or Currys or online:
which channel will the sound come from video 1, etc?
The optical in will be set to a particular input on the amp and should be marked on the back.
For example, on my amp (an Arcam AVR300) there are optical inputs marked SAT & DVD so my Sky+ box is connected to the SAT optical in and it's that input on the amp that I select.
If you use the optical in, the sound will come through Video 2.
There's a pic of the rear panel hereDenon 500 rear panel Opt.In is labelled Video 2.
JUDDERS AND ALL THANKYOU, PROBLEM SOLVED
