sky optical - the one with red light?

    trying to link my sky+ amstrad through the denon 500, it was suggested using optical out, whats that :confused:

    Just connect the optical out from the Sky box to the optical in on your Denon, check the manuals. It's a cable available from JL or Currys or online:

    which channel will the sound come from video 1, etc?

    The optical in will be set to a particular input on the amp and should be marked on the back.

    For example, on my amp (an Arcam AVR300) there are optical inputs marked SAT & DVD so my Sky+ box is connected to the SAT optical in and it's that input on the amp that I select.

    If you use the optical in, the sound will come through Video 2.

    There's a pic of the rear panel hereDenon 500 rear panel Opt.In is labelled Video 2.
