Sky offer on Samsung Plasma

Sky are offering a Samsung 42 inch plasma on 3 years interest free. Anyone know if it's the same one as in Currys? Is it good enough to upgrade from a Philips 36 inch WS 100Hz?

Can you provide some more details on contact info for sky...

thanks

P.S. 3 years interest free credit equated to about £350-£420 saving in interest repayment on my mortgage so its a sweet deal....

I would be very very interested in this if it's the same set as currys are doing and also for 3k. Over 3 years that'll be about 80 quid a month for a plasma!

It works out at £99/month, giving a total of £3500+ so if it is the same set as Currys etc the interest is effectively built into the price. The deal is in this months Sky magazine but there is insufficent detail to identify the model precisely. There is however a 'free' DVD/Video player worth, allegedly, £300.

On a 3k loan over 3 years you'd pay between 320-500 in interest depending on the loan you could get. If the free DVD player is any good then this could still be a good deal. Also providing that this is the same plasma plus accesories which currys are offering.

Rung Sky. Model is PS42P2S. Not sure about the accessories - what does the Currys one have?

That's the same model as Currys. Note that currys chuck in the tuner box, stand, front speakers, and a smaller set of rear speakers.

Been into Currys and the rear speakers aren't part of the deal although I don't need those anyway. Phoned Sky again and their deal includes tuner, stand, front speakers and fixings for wall mount. It doesn't include the actual fixing to the wall though. I'm not keen on doing this myself - any recommendations for getting this done?

Is this really such a bargain.

Dont know about you guys but I get inundated on a daily basis with offers from card companies for interest free options if I switch allegiance and bank loans can be had for pretty reasonable sums these days.

Is an 'interest free' deal really such a catch that it limits your choice of plasma to one model? Plus there are more competitive 'staring' prices out there which would still allow you to add in a bit of interest and come up with much the same top line.

Best regards

Joe

The offer from sky does include a tuner but the tuner included is built in to the DVD/VCR combo and the total cost is £3599.64 and then £25 installation ( compulsory) and a bulky item ! delivery charge of £6.50 ( odd amount i think ) also Sky have no more stock !!!! at present

To be honest I don't know enough about plasmas to know whether it's a bargain or not. A plasma is my next step up from a Philips 36 inch widescreen but £3k is probably the top whack. The interest free bit helped. When I phoned Sky they certainly didn't make it clear that the tuner was in the freebie DVD/video. Any advice gratefully received.

i am looking at the offer and it says " Screen with speakers and stand and a combination dvd /video player with inbuilt TV tuner "

I am looking at the Plasma in currys as well but will wait till after Christmas to see what offers are around including the old intrest free
I know Sky are only taking names on a ring back if we get some more stock basis
i hope this helps

:p

buying from sky i would not advise. i bought one almost 2 years ago and it is has stopped working it goes on with sound and no picture. i phoned sky and the waranty is up,i asked who made the thing and they could not even tell me 2700 down now deply upset also skybuy web site is closed and they will try and give you the skybuy number that is closed also take your money to the casino and place it on red/black you have better odds for your money.

You didn't think the £3500 was a bit on the expensive side for a SD 42" Samsung Plasma :rotfl: ?
:rotfl: :rotfl: I don't know why I find this funny but I am currently laughing my head off.
