Really?

My family had ran out of anything decent to watch on Netflix well before the 1 month trial expired....

I have yet to find anything worthwhile watching on Netflix...

As long as Sky continue to bundle the movies and sport together they'll hold their own (IIRC it's only around £1 to add one when you've got the other). Crunch time would come if they lost the sport.

How wrong can you be? Netflix is the one in trouble here and in the US. It has failed to sign sufficient deals with content providers and consequently has a very limited range of streaming content.

Just a reminder.. Perfectly correct, yet despite all the above Netflix continues to add subscribers at rates that Traditional outlets would kill for. Half a million New domestic subscribers per month, with each New subscriber comes more money to spend on content.

As to the other comments regarding Netflix and Now tv. Netflix is £5.99 a month, that's your minimum spend and with that you get tv shows as well as films and documentary material. Now Tv on the other hand is £15 for film content only, tv shows will be part of an "entertainment pack" down the road which has already been stated will cost extra as well. If You have sky movies on tv it actually costs you £16 extra for Sport, in reverse its an extra £8 for Sky Movies if You already have sports pack. Then there is HD on top at £10 a month as well as the basic package of £19.50 or £25 with Entertainment "Extra". Not forgetting you also need a tv license at £12.12 a month too. Apples to Oranges with a £6 service. It just comes down to whether you "need" the ability to sit down to find pretty much any content you want or just find something good to watch. Each approach is different, its down to personal preference which you choose that's all.

Now TV seems good but £15 when up against Lovefilm and Netflix is very steep.

It is fairly steep, I'm trialing the service using the xbox 360 at the moment. I'd say if you were a heavy user, such as in a medium/large family then it probably works out pretty decent value given the amount of content it affords you. For a casual user who might watch only a film a week then they would almost certainly be better off with a pay as you go service or Netflix etc. If they sort out the random crashes on the xbox version then as an experience it wouldn't be too bad and I'd possibly consider it. All told it's the price of a new release blu-ray a month, when you look at it that way it isn't so terrible. How people weight that up against rivals such as Netflix, Lovefilm, Blinkbox etc is just needs/preferences that suit them hopefully. I can't wait to see what the price is going to be for the service when the "entertainment pack" is available later in the year though, that should be a giggle.
