    Hi Guys

Woke up this morning to find my Sky+ box won't turn on. Its stuck on standby!! Tried the forced download that the Sky engineer suggested on the phone but didn't work. Sky will send an engineer to me on Friday, but the pProblem is that i can only watch TV through the Sky box as i don't have an aerial.

I want to try the full reset but don't know how. Or if anyone else has got any ideas as i can't wait until Friday.

Any help would be most appreciated!

    Thanks

It may be the disk that's died. In which case you can disconnect it and just use it as a normal sky box. If you don't want to open the box you can find the menu-less housekeeping procedure on the digital spy forum.

    Thanks Dave

Tried the rest but it wouldn't work so resigned myself to waiting for the engineer.

As a last thought i disconnected from the main before i wen to bed and then when i was leaving for work this morning i remembered and powered it up again and lo and behold its working, albeit i have lost all the recordings, but better than nothing!!

Will still get the engineer out as its under warranty and i wanna make sure it won't happen again!!

Are you sure it's not overheating?

    Could still be the disk.
