When I first bought my Sky+ box I removed the hard drive as I didn't need it. I used the HDD in a PC, formatted to NTFS with XP on it. I decided to upgrade to Sky+ anyway so I deleted the partition on the HDD and stuck it back in the Sky box. On power up it started spinning but the box did not go into some kind of formatting mode as I thought it might.

The CS lady I sopke to at Sky told me that as I had also upgraded to Movie World, the Sky+ would be free and should be all working. I have a quad LNB and both signals are strong and locked. If I press record, it says it's not available and to phone Sky.

SHould the box format the disk or have I done something wrong?

Phoned Sky again and they had not activated recording as they said they had.

Doh. All working now. The lady did give me a hard time for not having the phone connected for 6 months even though I explained that I was way out of the first 12 months.
