Sky+ mysterious crashing solved

    if you have problems with spontaneous crashing / re-starting of Sky+ box, read my thread on digital Spy

    basically, I cleaned the contact points on the ends of the flexible power connector between power supply board and mainboard.
    (Sky+v1, Seagate 120GB, firmware 1.31A8)

    then found last year that there was a broken joint on the 2nd sat cable input connector to the mainboard.
    Since having it resoldered, its been running fine.
