Sky Multiroom installation price

Was wondering if anyone has recently upgraded to sky hd multi room and had to pay the installation cost.

Ive been told by 3 different customer service reps that its a £60 installation cost to drill a hole in the wall and run a cable 10m to the box.

Im on the highest package they have for everything and with multi room would have all their services, and more than happy to pay for the 1tb box but you would think they would do a deal on the install!

You could always buy your own box, install it yourself and then just ask Sky for another card......................

Get in writing that you want a better deal.
Use the e-mail form at MySky and then if necessary the Complaints form.

What is there to complain about?

I'd like a better deal from the Tax man, should I complain to him?

suppose its worth a go lol when i last rung the bloke tried to claim that because they are giving me a £500 box that i should be thankful of just a £60 install charge, he completely missed the point that i said i didn't mind paying for the box but it isn't £500 and i am signing up to a 12 month contract and they already get over £100 a month from me, and i am paying towards the box already.

He couldn't answer me when i asked him why sky are offering a £500 box for £49 and an extra £10 odd a month on a 12month contract, they simply couldn't do it!

As soon as the figure of £500 was mentioned you no doubt realised that he was a total incompetent.
Where a customer like you, paying them that much, is involved, they should be paying you to take one off them.

He was only £100 out. It's generally accepted that the HD boxes are around the £400 mark by the time middleware and HDMI licencing is added but Sky have never made any money out of them.

It's rumoured that back in 2006, Thomson were selling the HD boxes to Sky at £700 a unit.
