    Hi All,

We are getting Sky installed later on next month in our lounge and wanted to get multiroom for the bedroom as there isnt an aerial point in there for terrestrial/freeview. If I order the multiroom will I have wires trailing through the house from the main box in the lounge to the bedroom?

    Thanks for your help

The engineer will attach another wire to the dish and run it into the room you want, so through the external wall. There is no connection to the other box. Hope that helps.

another quick question, sorry to be a pain! does the the box in the bedroom have to wired up to the telephone line as well? only asking as we live in a flat and the bedroom is a good 20-30ft from the phone point in the lounge

I think it's only the Sky+ and HD boxes that need to be wired up. Even though when I got my sky+ installed the engineer said it has to be plugged in while he was there and if I wanted to I could remove it after he left :rotfl:

Like you my nearest phone socket was downstairs and I didn't fancy having wires running around the place.

    Sky Multiroom Terms and Conditions

Sky Multiroom: £9.75 pm. Provides the same Sky TV channels as your main Sky TV subscription on a box in another room. You must subscribe to Sky TV throughout and an extra box is required for each Multiroom subscription. Each box you have must be connected to the same fixed telephone line at all times.

If you don't - and they do check - you will get warning letters and eventually be charged for two subscriptions

    Shane is wrong.

Both boxes must be connected to a phone line for multiroom.Single box accounts are not checked by Sky for phone line (regardless if its Sky/Sky+ or Sky+HD).Its the multiroom phone line connections they check on a regular basis.

    to put it simply

    1 box= they dont check

multiroom they do check as the second sub is only £10 for a mirrored package. They do regular call backs to check both boxes are connected to the same phone line.

The engineer will also put a phone line in for you if you dont have one upstairs, it wont be neatly put in, just taked up the stairs from your main bt socket, if you are the only one wanting to watch upstairs and the person downstairs doest mind watching what your watching get hold of a Sky TV Link

Buy Sky TV Link at Argos.co.uk - Your Online Shop for .

it attaches to the sky box down stairs and you run a standard aerial cable to your tv have a search on here for them. They work great,

Anyone know if these DECT extenders are compatible with PACE SKY HD Boxes?

It's a phone "extender" - nothing to do with the Sky box - or any other box for that matter.
