Sky+ modification?

    can anyone elaborate on this modification?

    i am due a plasma soon and cant get my head round this

    The first generation SKY+ can be modified in such a way that you can gain access to the video stream before it's converted to analogue and fed to the scarts etc.
    This should improve the quality of the video output and when fed into a suitable scaler/pc card or SDI interface on a plasma give you the best possible result (with SD broadcasts).

    It ain't cheap:)

    Pluggedin offer this sort of upgrade and there is more info on their website.

    I wouldn't bother myself, it'll be a small improvement over RGB but for how long - if sky are really planning to start HD broadcasting, it'll be replaced within a couple of years.

    Well, if anyone wants to try, I have a Pace V1 that I will happily swap for a Pace V2 in good condition :cool:
