Sky menu - contrast control

    A friend has just had Sky installed and rung me up asking what to set 'contrast' to in his Picture Settings menu - now, i'm a tad stumped cos i'm damned if i've ever had a look at this feature - as far as these eyes can see, it doesn't seem to do anything bar change the appearance of the OSD slightly (can't see any difference in TV picture, at least).

    Am i correct on this (rather insignificant) matter, or can some bod tell me otherwise? Would be interesting to know, i guess....

    The contrast setting changes the voltage level of the analogue outputs (at least that's what I think it does). I'd set it to LOW. If it's at High it can overload the Analogue to Digital stages in displays causing crushed white detail in my experience
