Since when has SKY+ added copy protection to it's non PPV/Boxoffice recordings?

I've tried to backup some sky1 and bbc1 programs onto vhs for my parents who are on holiday. However the recordings are showing what can be nothing else but macrovision protection. I've used both the Copy function and a straight playback but the result is the same. Normal vhs recordings of a channel recorded in real time are perfect.
    Any ideas?

Can't comment on whether you conclusions are accurate, but, if they are, you can easily get around macrovision with a plug in unit from places like Lektropacks for about £60. This goes in the video signal line between the source and the VCR and defeats the macrovision signal.

Or, you could use a Betamax VCR (they were immune to Macrovision!!)

Rebooted the box and it's ok now.
At least I'm not the only one to have experienced it, although this sort of software fault should not be occuring in a consumer product.
