Today Tamsin Egerton unveiled a unique travel experience for this Christmas season as she launched the Sky Go Movie Express a film-inspired themed train to celebrate the arrival of live and on demand Sky Movies channels on the Sky Go service.
New research from Sky reveals 37% of people surveyed find travelling at Christmas one of the most stressful things about the festive season, second to Christmas shopping (45%) and ahead of cooking Christmas dinner (16.5%). Well they didn't ask me, have you tried getting a pink Innotab this yule? The research also found that being delayed when travelling (63%) is the nations biggest bugbear about Christmas.
With almost 80% of Brits travelling for up to 10 hours to visit friends and family for Christmas, the Sky Go Movies Express is launching to help ease festive travel woes. En route all those travelling will have iPads and laptops to watch the movies of their choice from the Sky Movies line-up on Sky Go, which enables people to watch films on demand whenever and wherever they want.
Sky is offering film fans free tickets for travel between London Euston and Birmingham New Street on December 22nd while enjoying a little movie magic on the way. Passengers will be able to sit in four classic train carriages, each given a movie makeover inspired by titles that will air on Sky Movies this December. Lucky film fans will have the unique opportunity to take a seat in snowy Narnia, enjoy Mary Poppins Victorian London or be transported back to the 1940s in the elegant surroundings of Christmas classic Its a Wonderful Life and Oscar winning The Kings Speech.
Ian Lewis, Director of Sky Movies comments We are delighted to offer such a unique and exciting experience to film fans this Christmas. The addition of Sky Movies on demand to Sky Go means customers can enjoy the great selection of films available this Christmas on Sky Movies whenever and wherever they want. We hope the new service will ease journeys across the UK for travellers this Christmas as they sit back and relax to enjoy their favourite movies on the go on their laptop, iPhone or iPad.
The Sky Go Movies Express will depart from London Euston station on the morning of the 22nd December and travel to Birmingham New Street. The return journey will depart after 7pm on the same day. Tickets are completely free. We can't promise the carriage attendants will be quite so glamorous, as pictured
