I have recently acquired a Sky minidish and set top box for around £20. Unfortunatly I not eligible for a free box because I dont have a landline. How much on average would I expect to pay for an installation or could I do it myself? I don't have a viewing card is just a matter of ringing sky and getting one?

Yes you could ring up and get a card.

You will need CT100 cable, plus a remote and SCART lead.

I have installed it before, you will need 1-2 hours to do online reserach about whats needed for the install.
A drill and slight general knowleadge, plus a ladder?

Its alot of work and ladders can be dangourus but you can do it yourself, you will need to see the tv from the dish location, or get someone to shout at you when you get signal

You need to do alot of reasearch and you might find you cannot be bother,

The local installer charged my gran £40 to install a new dish, she was lucky, i would say £60- £100 depending on how long the install takes, and how much cable is needed.

You will probably find it easier to get an installer, this would be your local installer, not sky (they won;t do it)

Oh and even though its your equipment, if you get sky it will be a 12 month contract.
