over the rainbow-way up high!
I was informed by sky this morning that my subscription is rising from £16 to £18.50, a 15.6% increase.

Strange that, I thought inflation was only about 2%.

Now they are not profiting with the demise of itv digital, or am I just being cynical?

I hope you remember that inflation figure when you ask for your next pay rise:)

The latest software update being rolled out right at now seems to have cured a lot of the problems with channel listings etc.

OS..... 1.2S4Bp
EPG... 3.1a.5

Starburst - excellent news about the software updates. Is there any way I can force a download of the latest or do I have to wait until they send it ?

What i did was turn off the digibox at the wall while it was in standby for a few seconds then switch back on again.

Check in services to see if it has updated. Mine worked first time after doing this.

I waited a few days without reseting my digibox after i heard about the new upgrade available but it did not upgrade on its own.

Ok ta - I'll try it tonight

If you turn the SkyBox off at the Plug, and then hold down the Back-Up botton, on the sky box.

Keep it pressed and wait, after about 20 secs a downloading software screen will appear. This should download the latest software for you.

The phone line needs to be plugged in!!!

As the update is loaded via the boxes internal modem.

It's being rolled out to PACE boxes first, I got mine last week and I assume just like other updates when SKY are satisified it will then be rolled out to other models and makes with SONY as usual being the last one, software is tweaked slightly to take into account small differences in hardware design.
It'll take a few weeks maybe longer to reach everyone but you could try to force an update but don't be surprised if it ain't there yet:)

NO phone line is required for software updates.
The information is sent via the satellite and is targetted at certain boxes depending upon make/model, the process is repeated over time until every digibox has the latest software.
