First of all I am a complete newbie to the world of Sky and HD so forgive if im asking stupid questions.

I have been reading these forums with a view to getting a new HD LCD display. I can see from various posts that there are demo HD signals being broadcast. My question is how to you connect your sky box to the display to show these. I was under the impression that for HD you needed component, hdmi, dvi etc none of which are present on sky/sky+ boxes.

Also is it possible to get hold of sky+ boxes from other than sky?

You can't get HD signals with a current Sky+ box - you can get HD signals from a sateilite but you'll need a different box. The upcoming Sky HD boxes will have HDMI and component connections. You can get Sky+ boxes from many retailers and also on eBay.
