Having this installed this Sunday and now got a problem.

Received a reminder email from Sky yesterday afternoon to confirm install and once engineer has installed he will need the new viewing card that has been sent via post.

Problem is because of the snow here I haven't had any post for 2 days now and hoping Royal Mail start redelivering Sat morn. If not then no card.

Don't know how this will affect the engineer completing or starting the install??

You will only get a new viewing card if you are paying for multiroom.

The email is probably a standard one that gets sent to all installs by the looks of it your upgrading from sky+ to sky+HD then they will use your current viewing card.

Sorry, forgot to say, that am taking Sky+ HD and multiroom.

Anyway phoned Sky up and install will still go ahead. When viewing card comes, I must stick it in the HD box, a number will be displayed on screen which I should call and they will finish the install.

No - I had my normal sky box replaced with a Sky+HD on monday and they used the same viewing card - all the card records is which channels you have paid to have access to so it doesnt affect the HD box beyond that.

Well yes...you need two cards one for each box...otherwise you would only be able to watch what was on the first box.

    ...and you are confused because?

Let's work this out. Two Sky boxes. Two viewing cards. What on earth must they be thinking of?
