Businesses up and down this country make offers to new customers all the time. If I pop round to my local Morrisons and buy a microwave today, do I then go back there in two weeks' time to complain if the same item is on 'special offer' for less? Nope. You can try, but you won't get far,IMHO. Special offers, price rollbacks, 2-for1's, 50%-more-if-you-buy-now etc etc are all par for the course in business. Sky are no different.:)

Some companies however will amazon for instance, so it is not unheard of and all it will cost is the price of a phone call (unless you are on sky talk)

So what you saying? Unless you have Sky talk, any calls to Sky will cost?

Calls to sky's 0844 numbers cost 4p per minute at all times unless you can find a non-geo number or have sky talk.

If you don't ask, you don't get ;)

Equally you could end up asking and still not getting, but it's worth a try. The worst they can do is say no and I bet you wont be the first or the last person to ask.

In theory - You've got 30 days to cancel as per standard Sky Terms & Conditions.
So you could call them and say that you'd like to cancel under the 30 days and then buy the service again.
You'd hope that with any luck they would see this as plain stupid and refund you the difference.

However, from what I'm told, if you do cancel under the 30 days and then subsequently attempt to take out a new contract (within 12 months) you are not entitled to "New Subscriber" discounts.

Although the adverts say "Sky HD for £49 for all" I believe that is for new customers and existing customers.
You'd actually be classed as a returning customer and I'm not sure if they get the £49 deal.

But as somebody else said - you don't ask, you don't get.
Just don't be surprised if you get a negative.

If one decide to cancel with in the 30 days policy, what happends to the
equipment installed (Dish and Sky Box)? Do they rip it all off from your wall
and take it all away. Or do they just leave it as a freesat?

You getting the "cheap" dish, box and installation is dependant on you keeping the service for 12 months.
It is that initial 12 months that actually pays for all of the equipment you get.
So if you do cancel within the 30 days you should find Sky sending somebody around to remove the dish and take your box away.

Just been on the phone to Sky for over an hour.
Anyway - if you ordered Sky+ HD after the 22nd Jan you will be entitled to a refund, no questions asked.

If like me you ordered on the 16th & had it installed on the 25th you are not automatically entitled to a refund. I mentioned about the 30 day cancellation and they said that I would have to sent a letter etc. Anyway after an hour of speaking to various people in cancellations, customer services & finally cancellations they have agreed to refund the difference.
