He did exactly the same to me. After accusing me of being a troll in one of his posts he had the audacity of sending a PM accusing me of insulting him, and then like you turns off his messaging so I can't give a reply

It seems to me that he's just not prepared for people who don't just sit there and agree with all the silly things he says - if he really is that sensitive, then perhaps Internet forums are not the place to be, what with all these rough, insulting-types like you and I about. :D

He literally did what I said - he changed maybe three or four words in the PM that I sent him in reply to his accusation and sent it back with half-a-dozen :rotfl: at the bottom - he must have thought it was hilariously clever!

Anyway, enough about him - let's get back on-topic...

Lets all see if they make the same mistake!!! i have been a sky cusotomer for over 7 years, last year i noticed that if i was a new costomer i could of gotten a sky plus instal for less than if i was an exsisting customer upgrading!! anyways sky eventually saw sence and i got a sky plus install for £50 and a box relocate for old box in an other room soooooooooooo

let just see if they make the same mistake by giving new cusomers the install for less than old customers, one thing i know about sky is that are a very very greedy corporate company and they will no dought have a 3 year pricing structure in place, this meaning that when it first comes out they will milk it for every penny by charging silly price then lowering a year later then lowering a year later ect etc untill the next new box comes out.

I WANT SKY HD BUT DONT WANT TO BE HELD TO RANSOME FOR IT, I SUSGEST WE ALL USE PPL POWER AND NO1 GET WHEN IT FIRST COMES OUT AND FORCE THEM IN TO RETHINKING THIER PRICES SOONER!!! (IF ONLY ;) )

Sky will always offer better deals to new customers they want to draw new people in once your in they don't seem to care much about you unless you threaten to cancel.

Sky seem smart they will do research before setting price for HD so they can squeeze as much money as possible out of all us.

Someone mentioned BT they do same as Sky draw people in then they don't care unless you go over your limits then they expect you to pay up to stay with them. BT make money anyway from there wholesale so they don't lose out in the end its just customers who do.

I was in my local store and the had just recieved an email from there HQ which stated that.

The Box is priced at £299 when bought with an HD Subscription.

The Hd Srevice will cost an extra £10 per month:thumbsup:

The presell of boxes starts early april that is when we can place a deposit, they say there will only be 500 HD outlets which they are one of.

Supplies of the boxes and the cards have not be fixed but they seem to think it will be from the end of MAY, they think they should have a demo box sometime in MAY.

So its £299 plus extra £10 subscription boxes around end of MA,Y maybe in time for the football

Suggest You Lot Just Log Onto Skyhd Website And See What The Official Site Says Instead Of Making It Up As You Go Along.

typical another "I know what the real price is deal" then no proof to back it up.

Rather than all these pointless threads why not wait till sky advertise the price! :lesson:

:rotfl: you have looked at that site, haven't you? All superfluous eye-candy and no substance... also being flash it is unlikely to be updated regularly and there certainly isn't a 'news' section either. :thumbsdow

What a complete load of drivel. Companies like Sky and BT do lose out if customers aren't happy and leave them. If you left BT and signed up with NTL for example BT will not get a penny from you. I think you'll find they do care about losing customers, just because they have offers for new customers doesn't mean they are happy to lose existing ones. It's the same in many forms of business, just look at credit cards, mortgages etc.

This is a forum for sky hd, a product that isn't out yet, no-one has seen (or have seen but are not allowed to talk about it), and no-one knows the price of etc.

If this forum isn't for speculating on these things why does it exist? :)

You say that with so much confidence that unless they knew otherwise, people might take what you are saying as something more than pure conjecture.
I do know otherwise. Having spoken to the marketing manager of Sky HD who told me that she and her colleagues spend a lot of time on the forums and have found it an invaluable tool for marketing input.
That doesn't surprise me since I have spoken to many manufacturers who say that they read these forums frequently. Sometimes to identify problems with products. We had a couple of official responses posted for manufacturers in response to issues discussed here.
I don't overestimate the importance of these forums. It would be helpful if you didn't underestimate them.

and confrontational posts like this are likely to get you a warning.

    Quite right:thumbsup:

I have tried to make it clear on a number of occasions that the forums are looked at by decision makers at Sky.

However, there are a number of people (now on my ignore list)  who insist that, because they once read a business plan for a sweetshop in Nuneaton, that Sky must be following this very same model.

I'm sorry but as I have said before, wishing doesn't make it true.

    Thanks for the input Stuart:hiya:

so, you have 7 posts to your name, why on earth should we trust your word?..lol

and given how many threads there have been with people saying they know the real truth yet have nothing to back it up that is completely solid (because until sky tell the world through official channels, nothing posted here is actual knowledge, just guesses that could end up lucky) why on earth would you bother posting yet another one saying 'i know what its gonna be cuz blah blah'.....without being able to even name the store? why on earth would you give a damn about the guys in this store? are they your friends? if they arnt, do you not think it likely they will have told someone else as well? or do you deem yourself really special and the kind of person who everyone tells their secrets to?....lol

The mods might as well shut this SKY HD section down because every time someone posts some news they get shot down

Well in that I case I apologise unreservedly to everyone who I might have upset with my post, and stand corrected.

However, the suggestion that has been made that the costs involved in manufacturing, advertising and content have in no way influenced the final sale price I still firmly believe to be wrong. And far from "seeing a business plan for a Nuneaton sweet shop once", the last project I worked on came in at just under ten million pounds. Hardly sweet shop money, eh?
