Hi, I really need some help please.
My issue is, I have connected a Panasonic 3d blue ray surround sound system up to sky, using a optical lead. I get sound through the system on normal channels but get no sound at all on the hd channels. I can turn up the tv and get sound through there but nothing on the surround system.

Iv looked everywhere for answers so any would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

    Scott

    Hi and welcome to AVF.
A couple of things to check - in the Sky menu what type of audio output is selected, and in the sound system's menu what type of audio input is selected?

Do you get a red light coming through the optical cable?

Your Panasonic home theatre is set to expect PCM input only via its optical, rather than set to Auto which means it will correctly decode both PCM and Bitstream (Dolby Digital and DTS) input, should it receive it.

Is there any settings I would have to change on the surround sound to make it work?

    Thank you

I've asked what the current settings are on the sound system, and Broadz has just suggested what setting you might need to change.
