I have sky+ hd downstairs (non subscription) and sky+ upstairs with multiroom. If I take up the £49 box offer to replace my sky+ box upstairs and take up the £10 HD pack will I still get my multiroom or would I need another multiroom subscription?

If I've understood you correctly you'll end up with one HD subscription and two HD boxes and a multiroom subscription.

If so you HD multiroom box will work, and give you your normal channels plus BBC HD, and C4 HD - but not the extra HD channels.

For that (ie to have full HD on the multiroom box) you'll gave to pay for an additional HD sub.

Your interpretation is correct. I think what you are saying is that I need to pay for 2 HD packs in essence plus multiroom (for the rest of the non HD channels) - this sucks the big one and is a deal breaker for me. £20 for the same channels twice is rip off central.

Indeed - it does seem unreasonable. (I can see it is sort of justified on a subsidised box for say the first year) - fair enough if they made it a couple of quid, or a one off admin charge.

But people pay it (my taxi driver the other night had two hd multiroom subs) so presumably sky don't feel under any pressure to move on this.

Indeed it is. They call it multiroom except its not. Because I already pay multiroom. What it is is paying for the same pack twice. Once for each box. I just got off the phone to confirm this with sky and the lady classically said "It seems quiet a lot". No **** sherlock.

also, if like me you already have HD and you are trying to get a 2nd HD box via the £49 deals, you are likely to get asked to pay £199 for the 2nd HD box as we don't get a subsidised 2nd box!

I've signed, this is appalling. Paying twice for the same thing. And I've just bought my 2nd box and was about to phone to check this. No point now.

I think it is shocking that you still have to pay the extra £10 a month on top of multiroom for additional HD boxes if you want the HD mix on you other boxes.

They don't make you pay for the Sports Mix of Movie Mix twice.
