Does anyone know if Sky will be offering this deal anywhere again soon?

I don't know where you're located, but my local Comet (Nottingham) is running this as an April offer at the mo.

I sure would try hard to get it at a cheap price, no one should have to pay Skys over inflated 299 price.

May ring em to see if theyr'e offering it.
No way I'm paying full price - I dare say it will come down anyway in near future?

My local independent Sky/Aerial installer says that it is £149 standard price for at least April I think.

Just been onto Comets livechat - they reckon the terms & conditions are that you have to buy a HD TV to qualify. Nuts.

John Lewis are also currently running the half price promo when you order the Sky HD box with a HD ready TV (any brand TV)

It may be worth your while contacting the store direct. The offer I saw wasn't dependent on buying a new TV and was a handwritten poster in the store window. I think these things are very much down to the individual store manager's discretion.

after reading this thread , I contacted local Currys to see if I could get the half price offer without buying a tv from them ?
    No problem at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The salesman put a previous sales no. on the form , and I paid currys £30 and the remaining £179 ( which includes £60 installation ) to SKY !
He said currys got about £75 pfofit on each sale !!

I got the same "half price" deal from Comet... I telephoned my nearest store, paid my £30 by ccard and the salesman provided a "transaction number" and the number for me to call sky to arrange it. They sent me a receipt in the post. No need to leave the sofa and no need to purchase another TV!

Is there any likelihood that sky take your existing box in these deals?
I have just arranged this with JL and I am not sure somebody mentioned sky taking the existing sky+ box. I may be wrong as my wife relayed this to me:rolleyes:
I dont want the multiroom deal but I wouant to keep my sky+ box for future possibilities or even sell.
    Stuart.

The box is your property because when you had sky plus you had to buy the box, therefor it's yours to do as you please.

    Hi all,
We already have sky+ in my partners name. If wanted to buy the HD BOx half price would we have to pay installation as they would not need to make any changes to the wiring etc from what i understand.

When we bought our SKY+ box they gave us it to take away there and then so if all went to plan could be HD Active by tomorrow eve if is possible. :p

    Ta Muchly in advance

    Danny
