Went into my local comet in Farnborough

They have a new HD Demo loop that features several Sky HD Demo trailers.

    Ones I remember included
    - clips from House of Flying Daggers
    - clips from Battlestar Galactic (recent tv series)
    - and of course Premiership Football

No doubt there were more - I didnt sit and watch the whole loop.
There was also a segment from each of the manufacturers - LG, Hitachi, Panasonic, etc. Mainly National Geographic type footage.

Also, they now have DLP RPTV as well as Plasma (plus a separate row of LCD that are not always connected to the HD Demo), which makes for interesting side by side comparison.

I hate to admit it, but comet are getting 5 stars for their focus on HD.

    I should add
    - House of flying daggers looked strangely noisy on the Samsung DLP - but the other clips were fine on it.
    - The battlestar Galactic clips were stunning.
    - The football looked a bit jerky - but that could be the PC-based playback

    Good question.
The plasmas all looked very good apart a Samsung they had which was exhibiting horrific image retention - none of the others were, and they all were showing the same loop
The DLP was excellent too - I watched for ages trying to see any so called rainbows but couldnt see any. The samsung DLP was a very smooth picture, and a fantastic price compared to the plasma £1499 for 46", though as ever with a RPTV viewing angles were narrow compared to the LCD and plasma
The LCDs all looked very sharp of course, but they were all smaller screens in the HD demo, max size 32"
