SKY HD - colours and pixelation

Hi all, last month i got the SKY HD installed, recently i have noticed that on certain colours (i.e bright blue, dark orange) the picture quality seems to get pixelated, so you will see a shade of blue and within the shade there will be some obvious pixelated sections.

I have notcied this on SD channels, but i have also noticed this on some HD channels aswell, such as last night on history HD wacthing the universe it was quite noticable as you can imagine a lot of vibrant colours were been displayed.

Most of the time though my HD channels are crisp and clear as i would expect.

Now, is this because of the transmission, the amstrad box, the amstrad bug, or is it my TV setup.

I have tried searching for this, but no one seems to specifically talk about certain colours. Hope you can help.

thanks

This to me sounds like colour banding and could be related to the capabilities of your TV. I get it a lot on my Sony V range TV, say if the background is a shade of blue, I get another shade of blue within it and so on and the centre is pixelated. Ive recorded content and played it back again and again to try and remove it with TV settings but it never goes fully, so it could be the broadcast or the TV

mkcurtis, so are you saying that this is a limitation of your TV, i take it you havnt managed to resolve it then ?
