    Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of buying Sky+ and I see people on the forum have upgraded their internal hardrives, but what is the size as standard in Gigabytes?

Yuh, 40gb, but it's really easy to upgrade it to a 120gb drive.

I'm planning to get Sky+ now that it's finally(!) available in Ireland

Here's a list of drives which other users have tried in their sky+ boxes:
    http://www.hummer.co.uk/drives-tested.htm

and how to upgrade the drive:
    http://www.hummer.co.uk/disc-change.htm

Those links come from the Personal Video Recorders forum on Digital Spy where there is much discussion of upgrading Sky+ www.digitalspy.co.uk

It seems only Maxtor drives are reliable upgrades and there is a max size of 132Gb due to limitations of the hard disk controller in the Sky+ box.
Also, remember that you'll lose your Warranty by upgrading.

Don't hold your breath, but, according to Mediabullet, Sky+ users will have the £10 access fee dropped on October 1st, and 3 new Sky+ boxes will be launched from October: http://skydigital.mediabullet.co.uk/

I hope the rumours are true,

    Owen
PS: is there a limit to how many links you can include in one posting? ;)
