    Hey All,

We recently installed sky and to our dismay we could not recieve ITV, Channel 4 and 5. We rang sky up and even though we paid over £100 for a box they wouldn't give us a freeview card which would allow us to view ITV etc... Has anybody got a way to combat this problem?

    Thanks. Jack

You only need to subscribe to the cheapest package for one year. You can then cancel your subscription and Sky will convert your card so that you get only the free to view channels.

SKY should have made it clear that you could not receive the FTV channels using the product they were selling, they may not have had a legal requirment but certainly an moral one.
Doesn't help but you should have really asked someone who had SKY or knew about the current situation before buying hardware:(

The only options are to subscribe to SKY (the subsidised install offer would have been cheaper than buying the system then subscribing) or paying over inflated prices on ebay for cards that may not work.
